Sadly, Dr. UncleSam Himself (DUH) can’t count. To make his new job as MD easier, he has simply set the same dosage (90 MMEs or less) on pain medication for all.
For your sprained ankle, your broken arm this works. But DUH has declared war on chronic pain. It’s a war of attrition: many deaths are due to suicide. Living with constant pain and not much to handle it? Many prefer not to live at all.
Ergo, Duh’s decision to limit pain med dosage to a certain amount – no matter what medical issues the patient has – works as well as a bullet to the brain. The good folks at War on Chronic Pain.com are determined to bring together chronic pain (CP) sufferers, present our case to Congress. For, as even DUH knows, numbers count.
We want your stories, your signature on petitions now and then. And for you to share our site with every CP sufferer you know.
Rather than wait for the next blow in DUH’s war on us, let’s be proactive, gather in numbers as is our right, and present our findings to the world (and DUH, of course.) Chronic pain folks suffer badly. If we do nothing but watch as DUH forces lower and lower medication doses, we’re going to suffer worse. A LOT worse.
This site takes a lot of work for a couple of CP sufferers, let us tell you! If you’d like to join in this effort, contact us: we need fresh articles, medical personnel willing to put their names out there, graphic people, much more. (Volunteer basis for now: hopefully not for long.)
But mostly we need CP sufferers to unite.
